Hi!

Im looking for anyone who could help me with acquiring a wiring diagram!!

I have checked the fender site, first port of call, but don't seem to be able to find one!

I have a 1988 Japanese precision lyte bass serial num V012788. 2 wires from the green circuit board (1 white and one black) are no longer connected and I can't seem to track down logically where they should be reconected!!

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!!!

This bass has been one of the best purchases, after my Ampeg SVT Premier edition, (No 6 of 250) i have ever made and am severly distraught that it's out of action!!

I like, where possible, to fix and upkeep my own gear so will only take it to a shop as a last resort!

Please Help!!!!

Nick

Yes, I'm looking for the same, cause I need to rewire my Lyte, maybe even change the whole preamp if it looks like I can't get it to work properly.
Well, I searched the 'knowledge base' here on Fender site, no hits, and so I wrote to inquire if there exist any diagrams and/or manuals in paper form but negative answer. :(

However there are some of the diagrams from other P-basses that look kinda similar to what is in the Lyte, only they correspond to different switches, so if you can't find where it should be by elimination(is any of the 4 knobs not responding when you are connected to an amp?), there may be some hints for what is wrong in the diagrams of f.ex. Deluxe P-bass special. However the controls are very different to the lyte...

And I completely agree with you, the Lyte is a very nice bass indeed. I bought my in -94 second hand, to have a cheap and ok instrument to learn myself bassplaying, but despite having had 7-8 different basses in addition to the Lyte up through the years, it's still my favorite because of it's light weight, nice sound and sustain(why it has good sustain with so low weight is still a riddle for me ;) ) Only problem I can think of is poor weight distribution, but I modified the strap button a little so it hangs nicely now :)

If this didn't help you, can you take a photo of the inside, marking the wires you can't figure out? Easier then to help you in a better way I think ;)
