Want a building thread?

SERIOUS WARNING: this thread is going to contain A LOT of pictures...

Forum user Nikininja incurred some slight damage to the finish on a MIM Strat. I asked if I could try my hand with it. One day a package arrived with the morning post:

Let's see what's inside:

Hmmm... I think this may require a little more than a quick drop-fill repair.

Night time now on my part of the planet. Tomorrow we start...

Cheers - C

Disturbing though the title may be (Touching up Nikininja's body ), I am very intrigued by the potential of this thread.

Remember: A journey of a thousand miles begins with the realization that a thousand miles is a long damned way to walk...

Knock 'em dead, Ceri! 8)

P.S. If you pull this off, I'll be sending you a bag of sawdust for your next project.

Well lads I haven't seen the finished body or any pictures during the repair. Its all left in the masters capable hands.

I'd also like to state, I dont want the guitar body back. Ceri has obviously put a good deal of work into it during its 3/4 month absence from my abode. He deserves the fruit of his labours.

Dont it look to be a tale of redemtion of near new testement proportion.

I must admit, that one flummoxed me for a bit. I thought I knew what I was going to do with this bod for Nick, but he was absolutely firm on that point. So I put it down for a long time in some doubt.

But now I think there's a plan!

See y'all tomorrow...

'Night - C

I always thought it was poplar or basswood. Its very light. It used to have a big purple vein running up near the forearm contour. Who knows what its made of now.
