Just bought these Fender American made nylon picks, which cost me £3.95 ($6) for 12 what a bargain :D . I have always used a pick even though now I use flatwounds, they don't feel much different from the Herco picks I was using.

Sounds good. I use to have the Fender tortoise shell type ones, but who knows whatever happened to those? I think plectrums disappear in some weird time-space zone like the Bermuda Triangle, or your socks in the dryer. :P

I think your on to something there Paul  , that's why I bought 12 of them & why there at that price I may buy another 12 :) . They are are good feeling pick though I'm impressed with them, because I've used the Herco's for years.

Yeah, they do look like Hercos! One pick that I like for roundwound usage is Dunlop's 'Max Grip' .88mm. http://www.jimdunlop.com/product/max-grip-nylon-standard Just the right amount of flex.
For flats, I like the good old Fender 351 Heavy.

When I bought the Precision I bought the Fender extra heavy pick, but couldn't get used to it guess I'd used the Hercos for to long. Might try the 1.14mm pick to see if it's any better with flatwounds, but would .14mm make any difference.

Nah. I'd just stick to what you've got. 1mm is about equal to a heavy. It's all about what feels and sounds best to you.

Best picks I've EVER used are the Cool Pics Heavys with the Blue Sandpaper grip on them... they take forever to wear down. Other than those I bounce between Clayton 1.00, Dunlop Tortex 1.00 and .88 mil
