Title states what I'm looking for in a Precision. Is that combination available on any USA Fender Precision? Ideally, I'd add a fifth feature: P-J pickup configuration - but the the combination of the (1) rosewood fretboard, (2) Posiflex graphite neck support rods, (3) "Slim C" neck profile, and (4) 1.625" nut width are really what I want. So much so, that I'll pass on the J pickup to achieve the neck I want.

What model am I looking for? I see the American Special has the "Slim C" I'm looking for along with the 1.625" nut width (and it's available with my rosewood fretboard on the configurator), but is lacking the graphite rods.

This has everything, except a slim c. I don't know how much difference there is between a modern c and a slim c neck profile, but it can't be very much.

Yeah, that's the one I'm looking at the most lately. I was noticing that it has all my criteria except the "slim C" neck profile. Most likely, I'll get that one and just get used to the neck.
Does Fender make a neck with graphite rods and a "slim C" profile? It's not me that fell in love with the slim C profile, it was my left hand!

That, I don't know. You'll have to call Fender and ask.

OK, thanks - no problem. I'll give them a call asap.

Keep in mind that the deluxe P has different pickup placement than other P-Bass, such as American Standards, Specials, MiM Standard, etc..

I say that because I have a '13 Am Std P that I absolutely love, and I wanted to add a P/J config bass to my roster.. the Am deluxe P was the obvious choice, but due to the pickup placement like I said before, it did not work for me and I ended up selling it after a couple of months.

What about the Fretted Tony Franklin Sig?

That's interesting you mention the fretted Tony Franklin. But one of my attractions to the American Deluxe is the graphite reinforcement rods in the neck - I live in Arizona, and the wide fluctuations in humidity can make a neck go bonkers without reinforcement. I know the American Deluxe has reinforced neck but offhand I can't recall if the Tony Franklin does or not. Yes, I realize all I have to do is to look at the specs!! Thanks for the reminder, though!!!

oh yea... I forgot about that.. I don't think the T Franklin model has the graphite reinforcement rods.. sorry!

well.. if you don't have any objections with the Deluxe, I say go for it! it is truly a beautiful-well crafted instrument...my particularities with it should definitely not be an impediment for you! I wish some of it's features would be incorporated in the Am Std, such as the extended fretboard, and the 5 bolt neck plate thingo..

good luck on your search!
