Hello everyone! I have a quick question regarding the relief on my p-bass may be a dumb question. I am entering the world of Drop Tunings (yeah i know sorry standard tuners) and am looking into setting my bass up for CGCF. Normally when i setup my basses for standard i would tune up to EADG to check the relief, do i keep the same relief and drop the tuning or would it be wise to adjust the relief according to the CGCF tuning? sorry for the stupid question, i do have the correct strings as well

I have never dealt with drop tuning, but common sense tells me you should adjust the relief to the drop tuning, being that that is the tuning (and more important, tension) that you will be playing with.

Yes. Keep the same twelve thousandths of an inch relief as specified by Fender. I personally prefer fourteen thousandths as it allows me to set up an exceedingly clean action. http://www2.fender.com/support/articles/bass-guitar-setup-guide/

I've also found this string action gauge to come in very handy.

I too like the relief set at 0.14 can't go wrong with that!
