Finally, finally got a new American Standard Precision & it is the best bass I've ever played. Got it straight from the source: Fender. The Custom Shop pups sound sublime to me. Looks & feels amazing. Thought it may be lighter than my Mexi, but I don't know, my Mexican may weigh less. No scale to weigh them, but I don't care. This bass sounds amazing, tone up or down. Going to be a great rock bass. Can't wait to hear it with the band. I almost don't wanna play out with it cuz it's SO nice, ya know? Gotta thank Luckman & all the cool cats here for the input, you dudes really sold me on getting one & I'm glad I did. Wish I could figure out how to post an image of it...I'm not so savvy.

Thank you milothreat anything that I or others said to help you decide to get the AS Precision, I hope you get many years of enjoyment out of it :D . There is not one regret I have of getting mine & apart from straplocks (Fender's own), and Fender 9050L flatwounds mine is staying stock.
Your right about the CS pickup I love the sound of these, and never get bored of hearing them through my amp :D . Post pics and enjoy your bass :D All the Best Luckman67

There's just not enough time in the day. This should be deemed "THE bass for Retirees" cuz all you're going to want to do is play & hear the clean, clear tone! I could go for a week of solitude to just jam away LOL. My Mexi still sounds good to me, but the Am. is just SO much nicer & clearer sounding. Every note rings out beautifully. It is Oly White, tortoise & rosewood...pics coming soon

Thanks :D It is working out REALLY well. I'm very comfortable with it. Haven't picked up my Mexi P since I got the MiA...& I LOVE my Mexi. I almost got a black one, but was convinced white would look classy. Olympic White is a fantastic color, seeing pictures of it does it no favors, you gotta see it in person. Custom Shop pups are the finest I've heard. Sounds beautiful
