That's true. You have more voicing/EQ options for bass frequencies, instead of a guitar amp with a bass label on it and maybe some big speakers, which pretty much summed up the 60's amps. :P Although, that can be cool, too.

Yeah,...... but some of those were fine bass amps anyway. Some of their speakers were incredible.

Tuesday of next week, my Sea Foam Pearl PJ, should be in. The one I'm using now, is a loaner. It's a floor bass that's in good shape, for a floor bass. My sales rep at the store, said he'd give me the next one in, new in the box. I took him up on it.

Oh, OK. I didn't realize you had a loner, or I forgot if you mentioned it. Hopefully, it will be as nice, or nicer than the one you have.

I think I forgot to mention it being a loaner. There really isn't anything wrong with this one, but if I have the opportunity to have a new one out of the carton, why not. The GC is 25 miles south of my place, so it's on I-95 southbound to get it. I hope it looks ok too. From what I've seen somewhat, the Spl. Edition Deluxe PJ Precisions have had a decent grain in the Maple Fretboards. If not, at least it will be like I said, new out of the carton, and not have the kids from after school messing with it. As far as quality goes, I'd put the Spl. Edition Deluxe PJ Precisions on a par with MIA basses. The Standard MIM's I've seen locally, have been nice also.

I have to say that's pretty cool that you even get a loner or a deal like that, to begin with.

It helps a bit with some people I known for a while, and old friends. Luck is in there too.

That's the thing when you have connections. I remember when I was jamming with this dude that worked at Bringe Music back in St. Pete. He was going to get me deals on stuff at his cost, and he let me borrow some of his gear when we practiced. He was the one that had a Gallien Kruger 800 RB head and a Sonic 2 x 18" and 2 x 10" cab set up that I'm sure I've talked about a long time ago. That thing was a serious beast. Talk about flap your trousers. :P

Yeah,........... I'd say so. One single 18", is a pretty dynamic setup. But two with the right head is in my category, a monster.

Yeah, One time I cranked that rig up really loud and you could really feel it hit you in the chest. Amazing what 400 watts can do with the right cabs, when people think you need at least 1000 watts to do that, these days.

One, or two Acoustic 360/361's on stage were kickers also.

Oh yeah, that's what John Paul Jones used. Two of those, and the funny thing is that they are what, 200 watts a piece?

Yeah,..... the head was around that, but the cabs had preamps in them, so it boosted the volume, and power output.

They had a bunch of other models, later on down the road, but I guess that's the "classic" model. Did you ever mess around with the Guitar Center brand Acoustic models? I've read more or less mixed reviews, although more positive than negative. The negative for me is the fact you can only get them from there.

For a short time with the GC Acoustics.
Speaking of GC, my PJ Precision will be in tomorrow before noon. It should be as easy as turning in the loaner, an taking mine.
