I wonder how he managed to pull that off, when the Fenders other than the Mustang were too big for him? I thought the double bass was pretty tough to play, but I was never trained or learned how to properly play one. It was something I had seen in the music shop when I was only playing the electric bass for a couple of years. It's not exactly the same instrument, in fact quite different, other than the tuning.

He played an EB0 for a while. Smaller than then Precisions at that time. Different music styles may have been easier to play on the upright too.

I saw the pics of him with the EB-0, when I did a search to see if there's one of him playing a double bass.

I thought I remembered seeing a pic or two of Wyman with the EB0 also.

Now, he has his own bass design that I guess was inspired by his original home-made bass, from what I've read. It looks pretty cool, albeit rather compact, but I don't even know they sell it in the US, or not. I think it's an exclusive to some store in the UK.

It may not be an import for the U.S. The tariff's on it would probably make them sky high on their prices.

That's true, there is all of that business.

Protectionism of a company based in a country of origin.

It's funny how I like the feel, and the sounds of the Spl. Edition Deluxe PJ Precision, more than the Am. Std. PJ Precision I had. The 70's pups do seem to be more aggressive, than the CS60's are.

Did the American one have a rosewood or maple board to it? I can't remember that one what it had.

It was an Am. Std. Jazz Rosewood board. Too bad it wasn't Maple board on it.

I'm wondering if that was a factor with the sound between the two, as well?

It would've been interesting, to say the least.

You think you just prefer the sound of the maple board, over all?

Pretty much, and I like the looks of the Maple board too. With the bass amps that are available today, I'm not sure the wood is as critical as it was at one time.
