Well, that was Leo Fender's last go around, so I imagine the experience he had from designing the original Fender onward when into them.

Leo was around for those. A good bass when it's played through an amp that matches up with it.

That's true. I don't remember what I played through in that shop when I tried it out. Most likely, some big amp, since I like to do double duty when trying out gear. You know, check out both amps and basses. Being it was over 20 years ago, there weren't a lot of big bass amps available (I mean big as in loud/many watts) like there might be today, especially in an independent music shop, it was probably a Peavey. You were more likely to find those there than an Ampeg or a Gallien Kruger, unless you went to somewhere like Sam Ash, or that chain store equivalent. There was Crate and sometimes Fender, though.

I was using the Marshall MB series back then. At that time I didn't realize, I should've kept the SB-2, and dropped the Marshalls.

From what you told me about those, I wouldn't blame you.

They were really poor all the way around.

That would probably explain why they were discontinued when they were.

The MB Series should have been discontinued two years sooner than they were.

I really don't regret not using The Marshall MB Series. Things worked out ok, with me now using the Bassman Series. Fender Bassman Amps are back to where they were in the 60's.

That does seem like a fine amplifier.

I'm happy as little kid with the Fender Basses playing through the Bassman.

Well, you can't go wrong with that.

That's for sure. I still do like matching the the head, and cab for being the same brand, and series as well.

I remember originally you were using a different cab with that amp, or another model of it, before you decided to go back to it again.

I was using the Bassman 115 Neo with this head.

You like the 10"s over the 15"?
