Today marks 6 months since I got my American Standard Precision & Rumble 200 Combo. So now the honeymoon period / newness factor has passed, how do I still find my purchases. Well it is still the best Precision I have ever owned or played, I still can't get over how well made and playable this bass is. The maple neck just feels so nice to hold and play and always feels smooth never sticky or clammy, and I still get a buzz when I look at the headstock and see Made in U.S.A on it.
And I am still a big fan of the Custom Shop pickups for me they have that sound that you can tell it's a Precision. Though a big thank you goes out to the forum members that took the time to answer, my questions regarding flatwounds & for almost 6 months it has had Fender 9050L strings on which again make the bass sound amazing.
Now the jewel of the crown the Rumble V3 200 Combo I honestly love this amp, I can't help but think if Fender make this at a loss. As the amp sounds like an amp that should cost more than what you pay for the V3. Fender "may" have used ideas from other companies they bought to make the V3 as good as it is, but the lightness (34.5 lbs for a 1 x 15 combo) and power of this combo along with the vintage push switch (for me the best thing on the amp) that make these amps worth buying or checking out first. And the amp looks classy as well and the wide array of controls and back panel choices is excellent, I wonder again if and how Fender could improve these?
In all I'm still very happy with my set-up & stand by my decisions on why I picked them and no regrets I did. If I never could afford another bass then I'm happy with that, the only thing I'm dreading is that first knock or dent.

I wish we had 'like' buttons to let folks know we read their post and liked what they wrote. So I did and I do. We'll have to wait and see what Dave Lewis and his Rumble design team dream up for the future. 8)

I'm really enjoying owning and playing this bass & amp and honestly, I can't think of a reason why I would want to change either items. I look at other bass forums & the American Standard Precision, is gaining more praise & owners it seems on a weekly basis along with the Rumble amps. I would have loved it if the bass had been offered in the 50's 2 tone sunburst, like a modern take on the original '57 Precision 8)

You can'y go wrong with a good Precision bass. There are a lot of players who spend far more on their bass rigs and end up with far less that what you have. The Fender bass amps do the job and the company has incorporated lots of improvements to their amps.
I think a good solid state bass amp makes more sense for most players that trying to use a tube amp.
Rock on and good luck with your bass playing.

Very true I just wish I'd known that years ago, it would have saved me so much time & money and disappointment with bad buys. I have been lucky to have had a few tube amps through the years, but my favourites of all were my old Peavey TNT 160 & my new Fender Rumble 200 combo :D .
I really like my simple yet professional set up that will serve me for the rest of my playing days, defiantly all I need now now :D .

It really is good to get your setup the way you like it. Mine is the way I like it too.

Yes it is. The Bassman 500 is a lot easier to pickup @ 17 pounds, in place of the Super Bassman @ 65 pounds. I don't mind that at all.

Sounds cool. 8) That's good that you gear is working out for you. An old school P-Bass has been back on the GAS list, again. What else is new? :P

I know one way they can add to the Rumble series. Put out a 1000 watt model. You know, for those intimate coffee house gigs. :P

I think luckman is doing it good with a Fender bass, and a Fender amp.
