Ok I am building another bass. I am taking the 50s classic series platform and building my own version. The neck is from a 05 50s classic series I got off ebay. I am using vintage Fender parts except for the nut and electrics and I will be adding a thumb rest. Image

I like the look of the gold guard on the white body 8) . I wonder if they do a gold guard as a direct replacement, for the American Standard?

Pretty cool. 8) That kind of reminds me of one I use to have back in the 90's that I foolishly got rid of.

I'll be interested to see how this turns out.

That body started out as a 5 string body, no?

Nice!

What pups did you end up using? And do you have an opinion about them yet?

Thanks affprod, I used Seymour Duncan spb-2 hot pickups and they are a really nice in between vintage and quarter pound pickup. I can get a nice punk to soul sound out of them. I am about to put a Obsidian Wire in it.
