Hello,
I have a 72 pre that I'm putting up for sale and was wondering what they are worth. Its not original, been modified. Was sunburst , now sanded down to natural. Pickups are now dimarzio and bridge is badass. Neck is original. Mods were done around 1986 *(not sure why I did them; obviously wasn't thinking long-term value back in those days). Bass is in excellent shape.
I can post pics but I'll have to learn how to do it; brand new to the forum today.

This bass is tough to put a value on. You can sell it as is as a player, or as a project. If I was selling it I would ask $1200 and take the first $1000 that walked in. If I was buying it, I would offer $800 and use it for a project. Both numbers assume you have the case, and are just my opinion.

Thanks for the input, much appreciated. Funny you pick $1200, that's exactly what I listed it at on Craigslist. I should have left it in original order, just like the mickey mantle and Roger Maris rookie cards I used on my bicycle spokes when I was a kid. If I'd only known!
