Since I got my American standard Precision back in January, I have wanted to get various bits to make it complete in my eyes for me. So I bought another Fender strap (so my case candy stayed unused), & then bought a set of Fender 9050L flatwound strings (wish they did a 45-105 set).
Tonight when I got in from work my last two bits had arrived a set of Fender FSLC1 strap locks in chrome which are a lot bigger, than the original strap pins and hopefully keep my bass safe. And a Fender Custom Shop 3m (10ft) instrument cable in black & silver to match my Rumble 200 combo, so I'm happy with my bass set up now :D . Next on my list are the various books on the Fender Precision :) .

Yes, those are pretty handy thing to have, although I don't use any currently. I use to use metal washers that were big enough to have good strap coverage and a hole small enough for the screw to have a snug fit. That works even better, but the downside is that the only way you are going to remove your strap is by unscrewing it from the body.

IIRC that is what Billy Sheehan does to his basses, at least you know your bass is never going to slip off the strap.

You know, I believe that's where I first heard about that. I believe I read that he mentioned that in an interview in a Bass Player magazine, or something like that years ago.

Robert Sarzo from Queensryche screws eye hooks into his guitars and connects them to his strap with double-end snaps. You can see glimpses in Rudy and Robert's plug for some Line 6 kit here:

We used to use the Grolsch beer rubber washers, it was a win win situation. We had to drink the beer to get the washers to save our guitars & basses, from slipping of their strap. I only had about 5 basses then  .

That will work, too. It's been a long time since I've even had Grolsch beer. The liquor store I go to doesn't carry it, but perhaps they might elsewhere. In fact, I've noticed there isn't as many imported brands around anymore, like from the UK, which I like the most (especially ales.) There's mostly micro brews and craft beers from the US more so now. It could be just where I live now, compared to where I use to (Rhode Island instead of Florida) or maybe they just carry what sells the most or what's trendy.

Know what you mean Paul :) . The Fender rubber straplocks remind me of the Grolsch washers (I could drink one now  ).
Though the Fender FSLC1 straplocks I bought are very good, & well made as well and the price here in the UK wasn't bad either.

Have you got any Fender T-Shirts? You're not properly Fender'd up without a Fender t-shirt,
and a Fender hat.

Linnin probably has a Fender shrine and alter where he sacrifices Ampegs and Gibson basses in tribute. :P Actually, that would really be friggin' expensive, albeit amusing for him. :P

My own thought on this is that Fender has shown (again) what can be done in making, lighter & power full bass combo's. Now other company's could use them as templates for their new bass combo's.
