The PJ has a slight curve to it, not as much from what I remember of the USA GL. It seems to be thinner than the USA GL.

You mean the neck radius?

No, the actual shape of the back of the neck. The radius of the fretboard is the same at 9.5" for both of the two Fenders.

Oh, OK. I also remember you comparing the neck shape of the Geddy Lee to a Rickenbacker.

That's the way it felt to me somewhat. The PJ is a bit more of a slimmer neck, and it's a good feel to it also.

Slimmer than the Geddy Lee Jazz?

Pretty much slimmer than the USA GL Jazz. I'm not sure about the MIM GL Jazzes. I'f the river don't rise tomorrow, I can compare the PJ Precision's neck, to the USA GL's neck. Image

At least both basses have Jazz necks, and a 9.5" radius. So it's really just the configuration of the neck itself.

I'm going to contact Fender Friday, to see what the radius of the board is on the PJ Precision. The limited specs on it from GC, spec it as a 70's neck. I'm wondering if that means it's a 7.5", not a 9.5".

That would be strange for them to use a 7.5" radius board on a non-vintage type bass, you think? They typically have those with the reissues, from what I've seen.

In the Jazz Classic Series, the 60's, and 70's Jazzes have a 7.25" radius board. In the Deluxe Series, the Deluxe Jazz has a 12' radius board. I'll have to call Fender to see what they say about my Spl. Edition Deluxe PJ Precision, for the radius of it's board.

There were some Fender necks during the 70's that had a compound radius too. Meaning at one end the radius was 7.25" and at the other end it would flatten to 12". The Nate Mendel signature model has a neck like this.

Yep, that's right.
