I have been thinking about a Squier vintage modified p-bass for my white/black pg fix. I play one at SA everytime I stop by and I love how light it is, and the neck feels nice. For $250 I should just buy it, but I am trying to stop using my credit cards.

ohhhh sounds like "confessions of a bassoholic" lol

sounds good played one once very solid not into squires though

but....the LPB 50's era squire p bass at my local music store is looking better and better for finding a home *cough* my home *cough*

hey we (the bass and i) could be roommates lol

Don't get hung up on brand names. As long as it feels good and sounds good to you. Squier has upped their game recently and lots of people have noticed. I bring my Squier Affinity P to rehearsal every now and again, and tone-wise noone notices.

my dad has a squire bullet (guitar) and it sounds like crap and the body contains no wood, all plastic, that has really turned me off for squires but other than that...

and its not the name im worried bout its lasting quality, just dont wanna take one home and 3-4 mounths later is falls apart

neilb,
That is a sweet bass. I am getting ready to refinish one of my black maple fretboarded MIM P Bass Specials to a cream w/ cream/black/cream pickguard. Every once in a while I'll stick the b/w/b pickguard back on.

That's one thing I love about Fender P Basses. You can change the whole look of the bass by just changing the pickguard. I have several for my basses that I swap in and out. Abalone, b/w/b, woodlands camo, tourtise and cream. Warmoth has some excellent choices.

Anyone familiar with Greg Kiesel of the "Offspring"?? I'm fairly certain he still plays a Fender P-Bass with Flats on it. Can anybody tell me what he uses to get that fantastic tone of his? Thanks

He used to play an Ibanez ATK300 but now he plays the Ibanez RD. He played a P Bass upto and including Smash (1994)
