I've been playing guitar for 3 years and bass for a year and never actually got my own until now.

Here it is: It's a 2005 black MIM Fender Precision bass.

Soon, I'm gonna put a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder in it.

Originally really had my heart set on a MIA P but my daughter wants to learn the piano and I really couldn't see spending the difference as this ash body sounds so good! Note the Williams Symphony Dig Piano in the background

My little rocker with her new Daisy Rock! Tried to swing a Mustang but wife saw thru the subterfuge immediately, "It's for HER not You!" Hey it was worth a shot right?

I was successful however in landing an Ibanez electric-acoustic "for the wife"!!

20% off at GuitarCenter on black friday Rocks!

Santa was really good friends, really really good!

I have an ash FSR, but I changed out the neck for a Warmoth fretless. They are nicely made axes.

Good eye! Actually it is a Diet Coke ornament. My wife, and all the females in her family for that matter, is a Diet Coke addict. We don't actually have any generic Christmas ornaments. On our tree you will find ornaments from everywhere we have been on vacations, gifts from others, Dallas Cowboys and OU stuff, OK and TX things, bicycles, princesses, Starbucks (my addiction), guitars (there is a Fender Bass in there somewhere), softballs, footballs etc...

You know what is interesting about that particular FSR that I ended up with: It is by far the heaviest FSR P Bass in all the GuitarCenters in DFW. I bet I messed around on 15 or more FSRs in the various GCs around here. I mean by far like by pounds, no joke. Also looks very different as far as the wood pattern. Lots of ringed patterns. Not sure what it means but to my ear it sounded quite different than other ash FSRs as well. I actually just got back from the GC where I bought it (exchanged a strap my wonderful wife got me for Christmas) and used one of the FSR J Basses to check the length and thought, 'Wow this thing is a feather'.

Soonerinfrisco.
Ive tried pulling the same stunt myself mate so dont be to downhearted, as long as your daughter is happy with her axe then you should be proud.
I tried it with a 75 precision, didnt work though, my mate tried it with a gibson sg, that didnt work either but theres no harm in trying :D

I change pickups to Lace Alumti P pickups, change the stock bridge to a Gotoh 201, and change out the yellowing white pickguard to the silver pearloid pickguard. Man these pickups sound so sweet and active even if they are passive~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
