Thanks, guys for the photobucket info so I could post my pics.

My favorite bass. Can't say enough how I love to play this bass. Feels great, sound is tremendous. The fingerboard definitely feels wider at the nut than my other pbass (blue flower below). And the neck curvature is flatter too, at least to my feel.

Got it around Christmas time 2006 or 2007. I sold the case and got a molded black one - vintage case heavy, although I loved the storage space and the cool look, and the gold interior is so nice. But too heavy for my wimpy wrists.

P-up covers came uninstalled - no holes drilled, but there are predrilled holes in the pickguard. I drilled the holes and put them on. Only other thing I did was add felt washers for the strap buttons.

Japanese Fender '54 Blue Flower Precision Reissue

Got it in Summer 2004, if I remember correctly.

Have had a Lindy Fralin Split coil '51 p-up put in it, and had the wiring beefed up and grounded well, with a string ground too. Oh, yes, and I had the original '51 sized pots put in - it came with the mini pots. So, I guess you could say I had all the electrical guts replaced '51 style. Even had to replace the knobs to accomodate the wider shafts on the new pots. The finish and even the finish of the neck is just gorgeous.

Great tone. Flatwounds.

brotherdave,

I see that there are blue flower strats out now, apparently for 2008. I remember when I got my bass, they were putting out the pink paisley and blue flower telecasters and strats...so the p-basses might be on the way again. You never know. Anyone here a fender rep who could verify if they are reissuing the basses too?

I saw the blue flower strats listed for 2008 on musiciansfriend.com and other internet music shops.

OK, here's the Ps I use:-

The 51RI is the main one at the moment, with the black Standard as backup. Next week, it'll probably be the other way round!
The Squier TB? Well, I always wanted a humbucking Telecaster Bass, so how could I resist?
:D

No apologies needed, I post and repost mine all the time.
Here's a little help. Need to drop the "?t=1224167635".

Zod: many thanks. As long as this is a P thread, I have to confess that I went back to the music store where I traded off my delightful Classic '50s P (in fiesta red) and retrieved it.

I am now the happy owner of the fretless, a '51 RI, and a Classic '50s.

God bless the Precision.

It's mine, from a failed attempt to post the pic earlier. Thanks again, Zod.

It's a MIM Standard FSR with a Warmoth P width neck, Basslines Quarter Pound, and Thomastiik-Infeld Jazz Flats. I love it. I should have started playing fretless a long time ago.

It's part of a trio of Ps: the other two are a Classic '50s and a Classic '51 RI. All have QPs and TIs.

I believe I've found my bass niche.

^^^ What he said.
And that would go against my personal dislike for natural basses. :D
And like I could play a fretless.
