I realised that my previous pic of my '82 Siennaburst Pbass did not show it off well. So here are some new, better pics.
There sure are some fine looking Precisions on this forum. I am honored to be amongst y'all.

I like that '82Pbass.
Looks much better than a sunburst, the sienna, I suppose, makes it cleaner.
I would've opted for matching black pickup covers, but it does make a nice accent to the bass.

Oh, bigbite, does the finish on your bass sgift between blue and purple?
If so, it'd be just like mine, didn't think i'd see another of the same very much.

Thanks, Importburner.
Although it doesn't show up well in the picture, the white p'up covers have mellowed to a nice cream color over the past 26 years.
I've entertained putting a tortoise pguard on her, but I'm too lazy to turn all those tiny little screws.

I'd say no.
I mean, like I said, I hate shell pickguards.
But hey, it might look nice on this, because of the shades.

You know, your bas rmeinds me of my Electra guitar.
Black pickguard, sienna burst (although they call it a Walnut Stain)...
Yeah. Only thing is mine has brass hardware.

I didn't notice it was painted, I saw the blue, but it looked like it came right from Fender.
Nice job. :D

I usually spray my own pickguards anyway as its a damn sight cheaper than buying a new one.
When i originally bought the bass i reprayed the pickguard wine red then a few coats of laquer but didnt like it so stripped it all off and reprayed the blue thats on it now, to be honest its not finished as it needs laquering but i was in a hurry and i needed the bass for some jamming sessions i was doing at the time.

Now there's a finish that was discontinued too soon! Must have been labor intensive!

I must stress, the sunburst looks so nasty next to that.
It is a shame it's gone.
I suppose you could always get it done custom, or even do it yourself. Well, if you really are nuts. :P
