ImportBurner, is this the bass you were trying to convert to a 6 stringer too?

Oh no, I was doing the reverse. six-string to bass.

I just bought this a little while ago, not even a month yet.
I don't need to worry about that project tohugh, I have a worthy bas now.

I did go to pickguards.com and smoked mirror was nice.
I mean, out of all the stuff they had. :P

Those are nice dave.

I just hate toroise shell pickguards. I just don't like them aesthetically.
But still.
The one on the right is nice.
Hey, do bridge covers fit universally on P-Bass' or just on vintage bridges?

On the '51 reissue it is over a Fender Deluxe Bridge. No, I don't think either of these bridge covers would fit over a BadAss or other large bridge. I believe there have been threads about that earlier.

I only like tortoise shell covers on two color instruments. White and Sunburst basses especially. I'm not crazy about the white pickguard on the '51 Reissue myself and have tried to find old-fashioned celluloid tortoise guards. No luck. Probably would look better with a black pickguard anyway but I'm leaving it as it is for a while. To each his own! 8)

BrotherDave, Chet has done the bridge cover over the BadAss II bridge, he had to move the bridge forward a little to have the cover fit. He has a thread on the JBass forum somewhere.

I would think that moving the bridge toward the neck might cause an intonation issue. Did Chet have any intonation issues?

Regards to all!

He moved the bridge closer to the pickup but the saddles were moved back to keep the scale at 34 inches and prevent intonation problems .

Hi folks, new to the forum. Been playing my '82 Siennaburst Pbass since I bought it new. Changed the original white (yuck!) pick guard to a black one. Had a setup done in '93, and that's it. She's a rock!
