Finally got the rest of the parts in to finish the work on my White MIM P. (which has recently moved up to my main bass.)

Here's a list of the mods and accesories...

Fender B/W/B guard
SD 1/4 lbs.

I did those mods just after I bought her, the finishing touches...

62' P bass aluminum Pickguard Shield
Badass II bridge (finally found a site that sells them pregrooved like the ones on the Dirnt and new HWYOne's)
Chrome Pup cover
Chrome tugbar (allparts)

The drilling went much easier and smoother then I'd imagined.

Here's the pics...

I love those ashdowns so much! I'm buying one in about a month, I have played through loads of different bass amps and nothing came close to the ashdown. They look awesome too.

That's my favorite model U2Scott, you're a lucky guy.
Beautiful.

Hi, I new to this forum. I have had this bass since about 1981. Bought it with an Ampeg bass amp with 2-15's for $300.00 US! Moving from a short scale Univox bass it felt like a log, but it time it really improved my style.

Best I can tell is it is a 1971-73 model. I found an identical one on Ebay that is supposed to be from 1972. Any info out there that I might find useful on this?

^ I just picked one of those up a few weeks ago, what a player! Thanks for posting that pick, I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what guard I want to put on it. The pearl looks nice, I've been wondering how the Black Pearl would look.

This Blizzard Pearl is a very tricky colour, sometimes white, sometimes grey, sometime silver u know what I'm saying!

I just hate that original white pickguard, it just could not handle this tricky and odd colour. I did not have the bass with me for matching when I bought the pickguard, luckily it turn out to be ok.

^ Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. The white just does not work IMO either, but I can sit there and stare at that bass and see soooo many different shades in it that my mind just goes numb trying to figure out what woud look best.

Love the bass though, Once I'm done with her I've got a sneaking suspicion she's gonna end up my favorite. My other two P's definitely aren't slouches in the terms of tone, playability or looks either. This model is definitely a cut above though...the neck on mine is to die for.
