Hello! I snapped the nut on my Precision Bass Special and am trying to find the right replacement. Is there one available that has the string notches pre-drilled? Either way, what specific part do I purchase? I miss playing this thing and want to get it back up & running!

Here is a parts listing for the bass that I have, but can't find that specific nut sold anywhere: http://support.fender.com/service_diagr ... B_SISD.pdf

It is listed as part #0083675000

Thank you for your help!

the right way to do it is to take it to a guitar repair guy and let him do it- you can cause problems by using the wrong glue etc etc- there's much more to doing a nut than just buying one and sticking it on the bass-

Excellent answer! It uses a Jazz nut. Getting the part isn't an issue at all, installing and setting it up properly is though. If you don'[t have the proper nut files and experience using them then you'd be "nuts" to do this yourself.
