That's true, I didn't think about the UK shipping. You might pay out the arse for that. I know that because I've bought some magazines from the UK and they wound up costing me $20 each and took about a month to get them.

Yes, and you need a license for your halibut. :P A little Monty Python thrown in there for good measure. :P

You have the perfect rig for Classic Fender Tone. Rock; Blues, or Soul, you can nail them all. 8)

Yes, especially when the flats get some mileage on them.

That's what I'm looking forward to Paul,I plan on leaving these on for a few years :) .

I think your right linnin I can see myself just keeping this setup I love the simplicity of it, no active electronics or 9 band graphic equalizers. Basic is better 8) .

I have Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Flats on all my basses but one: Classic '51 reissue, Classic '50s, AVRI '57, and SR5. Lone holdout is a Godin A5 fretless, which wears LaBella Deep Talkin' nylon tape wounds.

With the '51 (my current axe of choice) I get note definition, articulation and tone. It makes that Precision sound its best, with no string noise, Another advantage with the TIs is that they last years: I put the first set on the Classic '50s in 2007. Then I got the '57, and a friend who wanted to buy the '50s asked me to put roundwounds on it, so I swapped the strings from the '57 and put the flats on it. Eventually the friend decided against buying the '50s, so I put a new set of TIs on it. Other than the swap, I have never changed strings on a TI-equipped bass.

To be fair, some people don't like the feel of TIs but I'm fine with them.

There are a lot of good reviews on the TI flats, I'm hoping I can get a good 5 years out of the Fender flats :D .

I just put on a fresh pair of Rotosound flats in a lighter gauge than what was on there previously on my Squier Jazz Bass. I think these will do a lot nicer with the neck on it, or at least a better action. I need to get one of those fret files, though. It has a slight sprouting issue. Not too bad, but not that great, either.
