Am. Std. have three anchor bridge screws as well, that hold up as well as the Custom Shop 55, as TheKingofPain mentioned also.

I thought I answered that with the pic of my Custom Shop 55.

Almost. As you string your flats through the body on this bass, the higher tension is less critical in comparison to flats that are strung through the bridge (with regards to the force that affects the bridge) .

To be more concrete. I would like to string La Bella 760FL to my MIA P bass but I know that these strings should only be strung through the bridge (as per La Bellas website). I only want to make sure that the MIA P bridge (which only has three screws) can bear for this.

The answer is : Yes. The three screw MIA bridge is strong enough to handle the flats being strung from the bridge.

Just caught this thread as I have just ordered a set of Fender 9050L flats, for my 2014 American standard precision. Hoping I can string through body if possible.

Why? There is no advantage to be gained stringing through body. There is, however, a distinct advantage to be gained by stringing through the bridge.

Why not do something really abstract here, get in touch with Fender Customer Relations, and ask them about stringing through the body. Also, ask them why flats on an Am. Std. Fretless are strung through the body, from the Fender factory.
