Is there any poll, which colors you want to see on a Precision? I want to give a vote for cherry/sienna sunburst, a color you find on Strat and Tele, but not on any Fender bass...

Go For It! It's difficult to start a poll when you can't show the colors. But you can always eat a burger

Okay, I want the P-Bass coming in this color:

http://www.classicandcoolguitars.co.uk/ ... ision1.jpg

Fender used cherry/sienna sunburst for the P-Bass in the late 70's (probably 1979) until the end of the Standard/Elite models (and Fullerton production) in January 1985. They used the color for the American Deluxe P-Bass (and J-Bass too) from 2004 to 2007.

Blue Burst, Black Burst, Transparent Teal over a select solid ash body and a 1-piece birdseye maple neck with green paua dots.

The Aged Cherry Burst finish was first offered on the American Deluxes in 2002. In 2004 FMIC replaced the 3-ply mint guard wih a 4-ply aged white pearloid.

I'd like to see some right honkin' rude color like a hot rod yellow with about ten coats of clear on it, and headstock to match.

I would like to see yellow, too. The ONLY Fender bass I have ever seen in yellow was one of the Stu Hamm protos, which I think is still on display at Hartke, New York. I think it is a great color and would snap one in an instant.

I'd love to see them finally do an AVS 51 Reissue in Bing Cherry Trans, or the 50's Willys Smoke Ruby color. As far as split coils, I'd love to see them do a Special Run of the AVS 58 Precision in Surf Green, Shell Pink, or Copper Sparkle (with gold hardware).

I agree with affprod, Yellow would make a unique and welcome edition in the P-Bass pantheon.

I'd have to add Jade Pearl Metallic to P-Bass colors.

I always wanted a forest green P Bass... I remember a few years ago they made Highway One Strats in that color but never the basses....

One of my indelible truisms. If you are worried about the COLOR of your instrument, then you are worried about one of the most insignificant things in regards to your ideal instrument. The color of your TONE matters when you PLAY it. Nothing else. If one color makes you play better or sound better than another....I get that. But to me color does not matter. I like Fender Blonde and Sunburst to LOOK at, but playing it is a different thing entirely. I am not prejudiced on color. I'll play CAR or Montego Black if it FEELS right. This was a stupid thread. If you are judging an instrument on color alone your priorities are so out of order that I can't fix them. You need a $200 an hour shrink for many, many hours. It will all come back to your mother and father eventually So just ask yourself now, what color would mama choose for me? Done deal.
