Can anyone tell me what width the nut is on late 1960s P Basses? I've seen that early 60s Ps had the really thick 1.75" width and I'm just wondering if they were thinner by the late 60s..?

Actually at that time a variety of neck widths were available. So it is impossible to say. The neckback profile though was fairly consistent throughout a model year no matter the width after about 1964.
