I wish I could add some life and movement to this P bass whatever it is thread post forum. I think it has slowed way down over the last year. Maybe we have covered everything.......twice. Oh well I said it and that's it . Maybe it's time for me to go away for a while. I know that wouldn't bother some people. So into the great abyss of swimlandia I go........ BTW come to my Facebook page--- there's always something cool going on there. I have a buddy that builds guitars for well known people and he posts pics etc- other interesting stuff too. Oxfan can clue you in- he's over there too. I hope I don't get busted by the Fenders for talking about my FB. There's Fenders there also- it's all good. :D  :P    :!:  :| :o

Once they ran off the NICP, flattened the aluminum cornbread pans and halted the train wreck derailments the traffic in the bass forum fell by 95% because there was no fun factor anymore. Yes it was silly and goofy and off center back then. But since then no more logging in just to see who said what overnight. I lost a lot of friends who just vaporized on their own volition.

There were a bunch of experienced bass peeps that poofed suddenly a while back because of complaints mainly from a couple of GUITAR playing members that had no business even looking in the bass forum anyway since in reality they look down on bassists and felt superior to us and jealous that we were having some fun here. Some of the complainers actually own more Gibsons and PRS than Fender ANYTHINGS and probably no Fender Basses at all. Some people just can't stand other people having more fun than them.

Thanks for hanging around as long as you have Stoker. I'm about bored enough to cast off myself in search of something more fun. This place is worse than dead, it is the UNDEAD.

Actually I'm giving thought to abandoning the Internet completely. I have a few good years left and not sure what I want to do with them. Pretty sure I've got one more good project in me somewhere.

I check The Lounge every evening, if it makes you feel any better.

My plans are to buy a used Blacktop Jazz somewhere and stay off the sauce.

I'm new to the forums and I just want to say that in the short time I've been here I've gained quite alot of knowledge.. I hope it stays active just to further my education in all things bass... I've been playing for close to 30 years 20 of them professionally and still feel like I have so much more to learn...

The Precision sub-forum does get the most traffic in the bass realm, so when it's slow things are really dead.

Down at the Bass Amp sub-forum, I feel like I'm just talking to myself.

I used to post some accessory and string reviews on the "Other Fender Bass" sub-forum.

If you have a Squier bass, that sub-forum is about the deadest of all.

I agree with brotherdave that certain crumudgeons have swept in like a squadron of fighters on a straffing run to shoot down newbies.

Welcome to the Fender Forums, eyezomb! Stick around. 8)

They weren't exactly newbies for the most part. A few yes.

I've got to find something to do.

Hmmmmmmm. I must admit, it has gotten pretty quiet here, As BD said, so many have left not to be heard from again.

Maybe IT's time to resurrect!

You've got more than a few good years left. Funny, all the detractors vanished. IT makes me laugh (maniacally, I might add) to have seen how upset the dinks would get over some nonsense. If you remember, the whole NICP thing was born out of defending new members that the trolls were persecuting.

Let's see how this goes, I have a feeling that just the mention of the NICP will stir emotions!

I still take a peek each day I have time and access. I would certainly miss Stroker and BD. And as far as BD is concerned, I have a job for him coming up to keep him out of trouble. Took awhile to get it kick started, but I sense history in the making.

I agree, there have been some fun threads, that brought a smile to my face, and made me look forward to seeing who had added another level.

Basses and bass knowledge is great, but we also get along, for the the most part, and I consider most of you friends. It is a nice place to drop in on, and it is sometimes thought stimulating.

If you all leave, I hope you will come back soon. Will miss you.

Steve
