That is the equivalent of a really good fish sandwich.

What speaker cab are you pairing it with?

Hmmmm, a fish sandwich. I was almost thinking a pulled pork sandwich, with cole slaw, Mac & cheese, and an Ice Tea. A fish sandwich would be ok though.

It's going to power the two TC Electronic BC212 cabs. 4 12's Should do it justice, and the Jazzes should really go down good with it too. Image

I've heard more positive than negative about it. The price tag for the 100T is fairly close to the 300. I didn't want to get the 100T, and some time later on think, I should have gotten the 300.

Back when I bought it I took a lot of suggestion from here, I think the posts are under amps, and tried out a lot of different rigs. You know me, I am a Fender guy, so unless the Super sounded noticeably worse than another rig, it was no question as I am biased to the brand.

I have never regretted it. Indoors or outdoors, I have not found it to limit me in any way - and I can scare my lead player anytime he thinks about playing over me....lol.

It isn't cheap, but so far so good. Very pleased.

Oxfan will have a blast.

I was more in favor of the SB300 over the Ampeg SVT-CL, but I gave both equal merits. After looking in on both, the SB300 had less issues, than the Ampeg did. I also thought the Fender Automatic Bias system was an edge also. Fender amps do have a good sound to them.

MY BAD. Mr. Nylon is going to love it. Oxfan is going to continue to be SB-less.

Mr. Nylon. I agree, the classic SVT-CL is another amp you would have a hard time not liking. To be honest, I cannot comfortably move an 80 pound amp, the 65 pound Fender is a handful. That was a big deal to me early on. I even bought two smaller cabs instead of one big one for the same reason.

They say the SB fan is silent, on mine, not so, but very, very quiet nonetheless - just a little whir when you are within ten feet or so. I was concerned that the MIM quality on amps might not be there, but that is the only thing that seemed slightly other than advertised. No complaints, at all, perfectly happy.

Sorry Oxfan. Maybe for your birthday.

Ha! Bought a tuner, MF had their Labor Day sale. $34.99 was too god to pass up. It was exactly the one wanted to get, tried one out and it performed very well, my old Korg is almost 20 years old and has always been a bit touchy, lot of extra effort to tune.

So now I bought a gig bag and a tuner, Mr. Nylon is buying me a Super Bassman, I should be good for a while!

The Fender fan even at it's loudest, can't be as bad as some of the Marshall fans in their MB Series amps. I had an MB450H head that was to loud to use in a studio. Is the Fender fan on the SB300, a variable as needed, or a constant run?

I don't know....I even pulled out the manual, and still don't know!

I am going to guess it is constant run as I have heard nothing to make me think otherwise. It comes on immediately, and runs at level speed right up to when I take it off standby and play. Never paid attention after that, but have never heard anything to make me think it is variable. It is not an issue for me, I just think silent means without sound..silly of me...so I was surprised to hear it at all. And I suppose it could just be my fan.

I would guess it's constant run, because of dealing with the heat of a tube amp. SS amps get hot, but not to the levels of tube's as fast.
