Well.. I did a thing. For anyone reading this who has ready any of my previous posts (unlikely) you will know that I had a Fender Highway One Precision. However, I've really enjoy the more mid-rangy, higher frequency, trebly punch of the jazz bass. So all that being said.. I just purchased a Fender American Deluxe Precision and couldn't be any happier. Mines a few years older a 2007 but she is still a kick butt bass and by far the nicest guitar I've ever owned!! The guy I purchased the bass from ordered it from fender in 2007 but being a guitarist played it few times and stuck back in the case and it has been there all this time. Needless to say, the bass is in immaculate condition. It still had all the tags, stickers etc that were there when he originally bought it. I paid $700 for the bass the OHSC and a brand new Road Runner gig bag. I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase and can't seem to put this bass down! Anyways.. There's just a bit of an update for anyone who cares Lol does anyone one else play the American Deluxe Precisions?? What's y'all's thoughts on them? :D

Is the older 22-fret version with the big humbucker in the bridge?

Yes it is the older version with the stacked j humbucker. And yeah I was definitely happy with the $700 price tag.

I have one - a 2013, 3-TS

I play blues etc. with it very well. The greatest fun however, is grabbing a pick and playing punk - the thunderous sound destroys small-to-medium sized houses.

I did a thing too... bought my first-ever brand new Fender bass, 2013 ADP in natural ash.

So you know where I'm coming from, I'm just getting back into playing again, after many years (and 2 kids raised) since I gave up my rock-star ambitions. Back then, I used to play mostly punk/wave styles, along with some R&B and crunchy rock, and a little funk. I'm not a traditionalist about P-bass sound, and I'm even fond of DSP.

For me, I think the ADP with Jazz pup and fader pot gives the most awesome range of sound you can get from a modern P-bass, and its active/passive capability is the most versatile. I love playing this thing.

See I really like the versatility of the ADP's. I loved the sound of my Precision but I needed something with more tone options.

Congrats on your new bass. I picked up an older '95 50th Ann. Blueburst about a year ago for $750 w/ original case. The are killer basses with a lot of tones on tap. Here's some pics of mine.
