The pictures don't do it justice. I took the pic of the Precision in front to give an idea how much bigger it is. 10 pounds 2 ounces!

It's a slab body too! Something I always wanted.

And for the Canadian's in the crowd, that's a Levy's strap, I had to go to one of my wider straps for this one.

Don't rule out Fender for replacement pickups they have some good replacement pickups...... like the Custom Shop 60's pickups.

I agree with you James about the CS 60's pups. All the Fender pups are well made, which ever style you choose, you really can't go wrong with them. 8)

Agreed. I've never had an issue with a Fender replacement pup. The old "original" P pups which aren't really original. They're the 62RI are super nice. I'm sure any CS pick up will be the same. Also, I really like Seymour Duncan. Especially the Antiquity series. I can recommend both SD and Fender without hesitation.

Agreed !! My Steve Harris P-Bass Has a Seymour Duncan Basslines SPB-1 split-coil Precision Bass pickup ..... Very Ballsy Sound, & I believe the Roger Waters P-Bass has a Basslines SPB-3 Quarter-Pound split-coil in it, & the Jazz bass single coil pickup in the P/J set up Duff McKagan Precision Bass is SD Basslines pickup,...... you can't go wrong with either Seymour Duncan or Fender pickups.

I had the Roger Waters Precision, and the SPB-3 Quarter-Pound pup is a good pup.

be carefull - if you try to remove the plastic after that long of a time- there may be permanent marks/blemishes/etc on the guard. More than likely it will have some kind of marks on it. If not I think you'll be lucky- caution BCbassman will blow my post up--maybe. :D

Oh, it's gonna get more marks.

It doesn't have the fanciest paint in the world, but it does have a 3 piece alder body. It sounded so when I tried it out, and the salesman said it was alder. Then, I looked up some vintage BrotherDave and found out for sure. This one sounds and plays especially nice, and has a REALLY pretty rosewood fingerboard. They let me set it up a little while I was there. The truss rod had never even been messed with. Pretty cool.

I'm stoked till the 23rd.

The more I play it, the more I love it.

I'll play along, though - if I were forced to pick just one, as much as I love them, it wouldn't be a Fender, unfortunately... I play far too much music that requires a 5er, and I've never cared for Fender's 5ers - it would probably be my EBMM Sterling 5 HS, although I would certainly miss my Fender P Basses and Jazz Basses...
