Thanks, when I saw it, I just HAD to get it. Kinda like a fretless Jazz I saw on Craigslist a couple years ago.

Man, I wish these came with a full scale vintage spec neck. I had been debating about ordering a Single Coil Precision from the Custom Shop. Everytime I look at this beauty my mind starts to wander into Masterbuilt Territory. Like why not build a "Fender 70's Telecaster Bass Deluxe"? With the Big Bucker in the neck, and the 51 Single Coil P pup in the bridge? Switching, maybe stack knobs, bound and blocked black maple neck... Agh! Gotta stop!

All madness aside, She is seriously awesome. I'd love to hear some samples of what you can do with that pick up configuration. Seems like one of the smartest ones Fender has put out bass wise in a loooooonnnggg time. I remember trying one of the Squier Precision Bass TB's (Basically a 70's Telecaster Bass II RI) back before they discontinued them. I was super impressed with the build quality for the money. (I think it was on clearance for 199, and I still kick myself for passing on it) The only draw back to the single bucker in the neck was that it was DARK, even with the highs all the way rolled in. I bet that single coil in the bridge does wonders for it.

Enjoy, man! That is one of the coolest basses Fender has done, imo.

Hey King,

The Duncan Designed Jazz pup at the bridge is seriously lacking compared to the Humbucker, which is a Beast, that's what I've named it, BEAST, because of power and size! Hah! I'm contemplating a Fender pup at the bridge with separate tone and volume, 500k pots(maybe, got to consult with that) just re-do everything except the Humbucker.

Anyway, they call it a medium scale but it really isn't that much difference. The frets aren't as wide, which is a huge plus in my opinion.

It is a great look. Why Fender doesn't make, at least, a MIM is beyond me. These are sold out everywhere, it does catch the eye.

Don't you hate when you pass on an axe that you knew you should have bought? the first Squier Vintage Modified Jazz I played was on sale for $210.99 at a Guitar Center, I loved it and have since gotten one. The what-ifs will kill ya!

Don't let availability of resources quench the fires of your creativity! Go down to WalMart and dance across the lawn and garden section!

Yes but wait !!! The Duncan design HB in my active Jag is no joke- the bass just plain honks- oh so you think not? Well then- that's okay. I gotta eat.
