Where do I start? The neck has a finish on it that looks like an early '60's. the yellowish kind of old, very nice with a shiny lacquer on the face and back of the neck. The frets are smooth, much more so than my MIM Jazz, they're almost as good as my precision which is perfect. I'll take a jeweler's file to them, just a bit.
The neck is like a Precision's, wide but surprisingly pretty thin. I like it, but then, I've always preferred Precisions. VERY playable.
I'm posting this here because, a Telecaster bass like this is completely unique, and the Precision Forum is my favorite!

The body is stinking huge! It's longer than a Jazz and wider than a Precision.I'll get pics in the very near future with them side by side. It's heavy, which was a major selling point to me, sucker weighs 10 lbs., 2 ounces.

No contours, solid slab body.

The finish is awesome, it's unlike any guitar or bass I've seen before, matter of fact, I've never seen a bass like it, I like new stuff, can you tell?
Set-up is good, imagine that, very little adjustments will be needed, it's completely playable as is, but I need some tweaks.
The Humbucker is a beast, it's at least four times more powerful than the Duncan designed Jazz pup at the bridge. Both sound good, still a lot
Each sound great, my only regret is, it doesn't have separate controls for each. I'll learn to live with that. The jack is recessed so you need to use the straight end of a cable, inconvenient, would rather have the 90.
I'm happy with it. gonna take some time to give it a name.

Because you're unfamiliar with the Telecaster guitar for which this model is based on.

The 3-way selector largely compensates for the lack of separate controls.

How is that? There is no way to combine the pups and control volume independently.

I think there might be a way to do it without any holes to drill. It could be made to the way you want it- which would be nice. Maybe 2 push pull pots- something like that.

You could rewire the controls to have two separate volume controls, no tone, and the switch could add in a capacitor or two for tone coloration.

I wonder what that would sound like?

It still a very cool bass. Esp for what you paid!.

Nothing better than new bass day! Sounds like love at first sight. Can't wait to see the pics, and comparison pics.

Congrats on the newest member of the Oxfan family.

Steve

That's what I've always liked about having Humbuckings on basses.
