Nobody has it, Sweetwater says they do but I'm waiting on a call back to see if they'll match prices. It will probably be here by late August! Got it at Musician's Friend.

Thanks all, I'm pretty sure it's a true slab! Spec says it weighs 10 and a half pounds. I like heavy basses and the unique combination of pups.

I AM NOT PATIENT!!!

I really dig these. I've always said if they had the vintage neck specs I'd jump on one. I remember YEARS ago that Fender Japan used to put out Telecaster Bass Reissues for sale in Japan only with this configuration. (Some were even semi-hollow). I think the big Fender bucker in the neck, and J pup in the bridge is a killer pick up combo and the Tele look just puts it over the top. Congrats, man. I be it'll be a lot of fun.

What really got me was the Telecaster body, then by all appearances, it's a SLAB!!!!! Hah!! Always wanted one.

Then to make it better, it weighs over 10 lbs. (I like heavy basses)

Anyway, I find that when I talk about it i get all excited.

As I write this, i'm trying to get one sooner. On the phone with Sweetwater at the moment.

Are you getting the "32" or "34" Scale?
I almost got the 32 in stead of my "Mustang"
... Don't remember that one having a jazz p/up, just the humberker.

Just looked in a folder I kept, when shopping for stuff. "I know I'm a quack", but if I don't then I don't keep thing straight.
It was that very bass. Funny I don't remember the jazz pick up.
I liked it, may still get it, but no sense too, if I'm not in the band at this moment.
And I answered my own question about scale length.

Sweetwater wouldn't go below $255.99, I'll wait.

There's no long scale version. Both basses employ a medium scale length (32''-scale).

Only the Tele Bass Special uses the Wide Range/Jazz pickup layout. The regular Tele Bass sports a Duncan Designed PB-102 SCPB single-coil P-Bass pickup and a special switching system giving you three distinctive sounds ranging from "tic-tac" baritone to modern bass.
