Does anyone use a wireless with your bass? If so, what brand.

I'm currently using the newer Shure model. I forget which one. I have a gig tonight and my stuff is already packed up. I can update this tomorrow night with the specific model if you want. Works perfectly fine for bars and clubs. I wouldn't trust it to large scale venues, though. It's good out to a few hundred feet, but I never push it past 100 or so. Just to be on the safe side.

I use the Line 6. Brother Dave had some interesting comments on a thread a while back regarding why he thought Line 6 was better than the comp...technical stuff over my head, but I have used the receiver with up to three transmitters for well over a year now, no complaints. I do not notice any degradation in sound, and I no longer step on cords and unplug basses.

Once, at a practice, my lead player's signal hacked into my amp, so we changed freqs. Rhythm player also uses Line 6, so we have three on, every gig, no problems.

Hope this helps.

Steve

I have used a AKG wireless before. Thinking about getting one.

I've been using X2/Line6 wireless for around 6 years - an XDR-95 and XDS-PLUS, to be specific... They have been pretty much flawless for me - no complaints here... If I were to buy new, I'd probably buy a G50 or G55...

Ive used the AKG wireless too. I wasn't a big fan of the whole wireless thing. Had nothing to do with tone/sound quality, I just prefer being attached to something. It's like a security blanket. :D
