Thanks, I like it better than the Parchment PG from the factory.

Very nice! Definitely an improvement over parchment. The pearloid perfectly matches the flashiness of the finish in a rich, but not "look at me" kind of way, imo. Super sharp!

Mr. N - As we discussed in the other forum, that's a particularly good match for pick guard and body color... I see that you already have a set of ETB92's on it.

Can't remember if I asked you this or not before... Is there a set of super long tapewounds in the ETB series for my Schecter Diamond Series Stiletto Elite 5 five string with the 38 inch wind length? I didn't see anything on the D'Addario web page except for their flatwound chromes in the ECB81-5SL series. But, the GHS website doesn't list their extra long Precision Flats on their website, either... and I know that those are available - I have some.

Thanks.

Thank you sir. I thought it looked like a nice fit with the metallic finish too. It doesn't standout to much, but enough. 8) The Parchment didn't thrill me either.

Nahhhhhhh,………… sorry P-L. From what I saw the D'Addario site, they only have the ETB92SL, Super Long in a Four string set, not Five. Maybe for now anyway.

The white Jazz Bass has the factory parchment guard installed.

Swap it with an aged white pearloid replacement to match the Precision and get a nice pair! :P

If you're talking about the Olympic White Jazz in the signature, it's a White PG I swapped out for the original Tort. On the Jazz, I just like that White with White look, and the Maple board.

Ah, I see:

Well, here's a photo from your white jazz in its original appearance. The only mods you did were a set of nylon strings and a 3-ply white guard.

FYI the american standard precision also came with a tort guard - unless you're talking about the mexican standard version which has a parchment scratchplate.

Yep. I've got the Tort PG's that came off of the Am. Std. Olympic White Jazz, and Precision in a PG envelope with the Parchment PG. The only Am. Std. I have that has the factory PG still onboard, is the Am. Std. 3-Color Sunburst Fretless Jazz, with it's Tort PG.

I recalled you swapped the factory tort guard from your fretless J with a black shell replacement a couple of years.
From what I heard this mod was shortlived as the bass has been reverted to its factory state.

The idea of putting an aged white pearloid pickguard came after your good ole friend grho50 dropped such guard into a candy cola ASP5. :D

The Black Pearl was on a short time. grho50 Had the White Pearl, I thought it looked petty good.

Oh, it's called Olympic White. That happens to be my favorite Fender color. I had a '93 J Plus Deluxe and '95 American Standard Precision in Olympic White. Congrats on the new bass!
