I have a fender precision bass. Serial number r082809. Crafter in Japan. Excellent shape. I am trying to find out when it was made, how much it sells for. I can't find where I can upload photos. Please can anyone help!

I am not knowledgeable on value of modern day CIJ basses, but hang in there, someone will respond.

Japanese made Fenders are getting more valuable but they do lag behind USA made Fenders, which makes sense since they cost much less when new.

I would have to see some good pictures of your bass to intelligently evaluate it because there are so many scammers around who are posting to boards like this to get info to help them cheat innocent people.

All of the parts of a Japanese manufactured Fender have characteristics that are unmistakably Japanese and cannot be easily faked, but so many parts on a Fender bass are interchangeable with aftermarket parts that I like to see pictures of the bass in question before I hazard a guess as to what it is worth. Value is very dependent on your location in the world and it will be more valuable in certain countries and certain big cities in the US.
