Good Morning,

I just got a brandnew set of 8250Ms for my 2012 Standard P (with the HMV bridge and string through option) and I am not sure whether it is correct that the thinner part of the 110 taperwound string is directly sitting on the bridge saddle. The thicker part is not touching the bridge at all.

The string set is strung through the body of course.

Is that correct? Will it have any negative influence on the sound of the E string?

THX!

Yup, this is correct. With taperwound strings, the tapered, thin part of the string should sit on the saddle. The idea is that the thick E string will be brighter and have better sustain if its core sits directly on the saddle than it it would othersise have. It also helps with intonation accuracy with very thick strings.
