So recently I've been searching for some cool looking knobs for my standard Fender p bass and I came across several 'dome' and 'top dome' knobs that are pretty cool but I'm still not entirely sure if they'd fit the bass or not
These are what I'm talking about

There are two common sizes, 6mm and 1/4", close, but not the same. Solid shafts are usually 1/4", split shafts may be 6mm. Quick check, take the jack on your bass cable and stick it in the knob, if it goes, you need 1/4" knob, if it does not go, you need a 6mm. If you have a caliper, measure the shaft diameter to be certain.

Hi BlueSktle, usually Standard P-Bass owners looking for a knob change are doing that because they have an early Mexican P-Bass with the push on Stratocaster style knobs labeled Volume/Tone. Those are PUSH ON knobs and you will need push-on replacements.
