O.K., my latest train of thought is to sell everything, keep my FSR Precision, and of course the Strat., get a AMERICAN VINTAGE '63 PRECISION BASS® and only one amp. The voices are getting louder!

Go for a Vintage Hot Rod 60's P-Bass instead & a Bassman 100T with 4x10 cabinet or the new Rumble 500 head with 4x10 cabinet..... Trust me

Always found your advice to be sound, James. My biggest problem is finding the basses and amps around here. No one carries any higher end gear.

I sincerely hope you're done sending Polar blasts to us, we get the point! We feel your pain!

The Vintage 60's Hot Rod has a compound radius which would be a deal breaker for me, but possibly not for you. FYI, Bass Club Chicago just posted a pic on facebook of a 62 RI Precision they got it that looks gorgeous. Might be worth checking out if it's a good deal.

   I'm in Vancouver,BC on the west coast 40 minutes north from Washington State & the U.S. Border,.....we've also had great spring weather this week,..... Sunny between 52 to 56 degress can't complain,.....the polar vortex did give us a colder than usual January,.......anyway it originates in the North Pole,........ you know HO HO HO...elves, rain dear & all :)
I was at Long & McQuade Music last week & I got to see the Vintage Hot Rod 60s P-Bass with P/J setup (64 Jazz pickup & 63 split coil pickup ) & natural finish, rosewood fret board,..... it's quite a looker.

Yes they're really nice,..... the reason I was at Long & McQuade Music last week was because I picked up the Vintage Hot Rod 70s Jazz Bass in Candy Apple Red,( I mentioned putting a deposit on one in an earlier post)........I promise to post photos,...I guess I'm going to have to open a Flicr account ETC .... Anyway this is really a beautiful bass, this bass along with the American Vintage '74 Jazz bass have U profile necks,.....being a fan of the Modern C & slim C necks when I first read this before I played the Vintage Hot Rod 70s Jazz bass I though I wouldn't like it but I do,.... the neck on this bass is really nice,.... I also like the compound Radius 7.25" - 12" & satin finish the back,......it has a nice warm tone with both pickups open, a word that comes to mind with regard to the sound/tones I get from this bass is Focused (if that makes any sense).... it's not as bright sounding as my Marcus Miller or Geddy Lee Jazz basses,.....I like the mix of the 74 Jazz single coil & 63 split coil P-bass pickups
& I really like Fender's version of the Bassass II bridge,.... the bass needed a tweek so we did it at the music store,...it's got a vintage style truss rod that's accessed at the heel (in keeping with the Vintage theme) so we took off the neck,..... the neck had a May 23, 2013 stamp on it & I couldn't make out the stamped date on the body though it was probably made around the same time,... & there was a 2nd stamp on the body that said " Russell" anyway as pricey as these Basses are they're worth the investment,...I should also add that the vintage black case with Fender logo & Orange interior is a nice touch,...they even included a thumb rest, cable, chrome pickup cover & nice Black Leather strap,...... the serial number on this base is stamped on the neck plate
along with Corvette style cross racing flags,....I'm not sure where Fender starts the number sequence on these basses but I know I have one of the first 550 made,..the serial number on my bass is HR000556 & a picture of the neck plate of a Candy Apple Red Hot Rod 70s Jazz Bass that I saw on sweetwater's website was HR002107
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/JBassVHR70CAR/
Anyway I'm excited & this bass is a keeper :)

Not to go off on too much of a tangent, but speaking of newer Fender bridges. Has anyone had a chance to check out one of the newer Custom Shop high mass string through body bridges? They sure look sharp. Just wondering if they work as good as they look.
