As I said, how much is in the fund. $1999.99 vs. $1249.99. I think the Standard will win out.

Stay tuned!

ACK! Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo! You can get an American Standard Precision any day of the week for the foreseeable future, but the AVRI '63 P??? One can't tell. Besides which the '63 has that undeniable vintage vibe going for it.

Buy '63 P!

This Has Been A Public Service Announcement. We return you now to your program already in progress.

I may be in the top three of supporters of the American Standard, probably what will happen, is I 'll get the $1300 together and get the Standard.

While I liked the Nylons, I've pretty much gone the way of the Ohioan and use Rotosound.

Bah, American Standards. For over a decade that bass has been used to sell ice to Eskimos.

And there are some pretty happy Eskimos now too.

In the end, that's all that matters.

I purchased a 2013 American Standard Precision in 'burst/rosewood a month ago.
...now I consider myself a devoted Jazz bass guy ok. Played a AS Precision in a Guitar Center and that did it for me!
I know that '63 is sweet but in my opinion Fender is putting out some primo product of late with the American Standard line.

Seriously you can't beat that quality at that price (got 15+% off).

I have to re-think my Jazz bass only mindset. Although a 2014 American Standard Jazz would be sweet.......

The Am. Std. Jazz is topnotch. I'm glad I was able to get my Am. Std. Fretless Jazz to compliment my Precision. I'm sold on the Am. Std. Series for both J & P Basses. Very playable.

+1 Mr. Nylon

I have a few MIA or FCS reissues that I would defer to, but if my gear was gone and I had to replace it quickly....no doubt it would be a MIA P STD and an MIA J STD. No doubt at all. Not a second of doubt.
