Now that you've come over to the dark side, Mr. Nylon, isn't your new beauty amazing? You have to get hold of a Tech 21 box. You'll be amazed at what it will do with a fretless.

I'm intrigued by Fender making a Squier Fretless VM Precision, and not an American Standard. I'd be on it like a Clown on cotton candy!

You're due to give us a detailed review of Windy, and, you have to send her up to me.

Fender doesn't mess with the Am. Std. Series as much as others. I think that's one reason Am. Std. basses keep their value. The rounded edges of the board on Windy feels good. At 8.8 pounds, it's comfortable to play. The body looks to be a two piece Alder.

And, now I lay me down to sleep,......
I really do like the two basses I've got. They play well through the amp too.

And, After trying the JBass, and the PBass heads up, I have crowned Windy as the head bass. Electric Lady sounds good also, just a bit more of a dryer sound. Windy has the typical lower, more mellow sound that I favor for most of my playing. Image

It just worked out that way. The majority of playing I do is very high in bass tone. Mid lows are down below half on the RH450.

Now how hard was that? Good review and personal insight.

Fretless basses have a way of being very enchanting.

Yes OX, they are very much so. I'm glad I went back to the Fretless Jazz. I like the fretted "Electric Lady" Precision, but "Windy" the Fretless Jazz has such a full rich sound booming through the amp setup. I'm sorry, I didn't pickup on that you wanted a review, and personal insight on Windy. Most players don't listen to Roadies anyway. Especially old ones.

Lady and Windy are special in their own special way. They are two entirely different animals, like a cougar and a leopard, both awesome.

Yep! But I'm glad I have them both. Some day I may get a Pawn Shop Mustang, for that short scale bass. My big problem would be, Olympic White, or 3-Color Sunburst.
