Hello, I have an American standard P bass and the serial # is 10007xxx, the x's are actually numbers. I was told it is a 2010 model. It has the made in USA decal , Corona Ca neck plate, truss rod adjusts from the butt end, so I am sure it is American, but I cannot date this number on any charts. There is no US before the number and no spaces between any number . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there perhaps 9 numbers instead of 8? If so, it would indicate 2009. At 8 digits I do not have an answer for you.

Buddy - Fender used a couple of different serial number formats in 2010. They used the format on your P-bass for the first few months of 2010 - it is a "10" followed by the actual serial number which could have been either 6 or 7 digits - so they look like 10xxxxxx. Further, the "10" prefix font was almost identical to the other digits. This format only lasted until about March/April of 2010 when they switched over to using a "US10" prefix (so the format was US10xxxxxx) and they made the "US10" a different bolded font from the other digits of the serial number.

So you've got an American Standard P-bass from the first quarter of 2010.

Also I posted some info on your old Tele in your thread over on the Telecaster forum.

Congrats on the 2010 P Bass. Some of those serial number charts don't always show numbers correctly. True info about the 2010 serial number changes that took place. :D
