Played a place back in the day, north woods of Wisconsin. Had music until oh drunk thirty and then exotic dancers....exotic being an extreme stretch. Rough and tumble, half tourists, half bikers. I recall many fights, in fact it was unique to go a whole night without one, but I don't remember ever having equipment damaged or stolen. There was no place to dance, so we were basically background music, ignored by most present.

The men's room boasted a sink upon which the handles were female figurines, and as a result, frequently stolen. One night, passing the bar from the men's room, I reported to the owner that the handles had been stolen again, no way to wash your hands. I think that was a Friday night. The next night the owner told me he had fixed it so no one could steal the handles. I went into the men's room to find he had removed the sink altogether.

So many stories from that place but most are not appropriate here. Still, when you're a teenager, it was a heck of a summer job.

It's hard to picture a dump bar in the North woods. Oh well I guess there's Billys everywhere. :D

Gig from hell. 2 weeks at the Balmoral in Vancouver BC. Total scuz bar. The carpet (red in the corners and under immovable stuff) was the consistency of black hash in all other areas. sets started at 3pm and went to 1am with a 90 minute dinner break at 6. The guy slinging beer on the floor was being paid in beer. Totally smoking inside in those days. In those days all gigs in the city were agent controlled and if you didn't play this gig you couldn't have other better ones. People passed out in puke in the can. hookers and dealers.

Well.... I don't feel so bad now. You were in Double Hell gigism. Nice. If I look around I can always find something worse.

ANOTHER GIG FROM H>>>E>>>double hockey sticks---

Played New Years Eve gig last night. By the 3rd set the drummer in a pick up band I'm in was so stinking drunk he was "gone". In the middle of a song in the 3rd set he got up and walked off stage , went over and sat down at a table and watched us play the rest of the set!!!! Incredible!!!
He absolutely was lost on the drums- head hanging down, eyes shut and fumbling completely. The 4th set was terrible- beyond emberrasment - I didn't even care and tried to ignore the fact that the Worlds Worst band was the one I was playing with at the moment.
After the 4th set he got up from behind the drums that were on a drum riser and while making his way around the side of his kit he just kind of slow motion fell off the riser backwards behind my amp. It almost knocked my rig and bass over. I walked over and looked over my rig and he was flat on his back wedged in between the wall and the back of my amp. I asked him if he was okay and he said "I don't know".

It was the absolute worst performance I have ever been involved with in 40 years! I told him a while later after he was up and around-- I told him to be carefull and don't fall on the guitars cause he could get hurt. He looked up at me like I was nuts. I told him not to fall on my stuff like he did before. He asked me " I fell over there"?-- I said "yes" he said "you're full of #%&@ , I didn't fall over there". Gone baby gone!!!!!!

Wow. Great way to bring in the New Year. Hopefully that was prior to midnight so it can be stuffed in 2013. Otherwise, just look at it as getting it out of the way for this year - things can only get better! Best of luck going forward.

Yeah with my kind of luck- who needs enemies? What? :D The band I was in - in the fourth grade- sounded better than we did last night on a couple tunes- maybe more than that. I'll never be able to forget. It goes at the top of the list. :?
