Well, this came in my e-mails this morning from Amazon. Aren't they just so nice to let me know they have stuff i want?

Of course, the first thing that ran through my mind was, it's only a few bucks! Those things tend to add up, and self control over bass stuff isn't my strong suit. I had to start putting my coffee table books in drawers because there were too many.

That may be a good book if you don't have one. It will help bass players understand their nut... if they don't already. The nut may be one of the least understood parts of a guitar by people who play them. I'm saying that from my viewpoint which is looking at my neck. I have to re-install the nut on the one bass no one cares about but I do. It is fretless. The instruction I was given in haste was 20 thousandths from the bottom of the slot to the top of the fretboard for each string. That is interesting . It could be more or less I think. I need to get out a BOOK and check it out.

I have that book and love it. Yeah a bunch of the stuff covered I already know but still fun to read how someone else does it. Plus it has some really nics detailed pics of early (1951+) basses fullydisassembled.

Sorry to tempt you to spend $$ but it does make a good coffee table book!
