Well, got two done, three to go. Decided to put the Rotosound RS66LD Long Scale Swing 66 on Bebe, the fretless Jazz, and, GHS M-3045 Rounds on my FSR Precision.

New strings fall in the same catagory as, opening a new jar of peanut butter or a can of coffee.

I hope not, I'm gonna need my left hand for a while longer. For how simple it is, it's just a pain because i have to tweak everything and get too picky.

Hey Glenn. the nylons were great, they just died on me. Has that been your experience?

I've been using the same set for about a year. They're doing fine still. To bad that set dropped out on you.

No problem, I was anxious to try the Roto's on Bebe.

Thanks for the suggestion, Linnin, I always wait until I find a great price before buying, then stock up. (Don't tell, but i do change strings more often than I admit, I just whine a lot about it).

I'll just bet those Rotos sound really good on the fretless. I'd love to hear it. It takes nads to put Rotos on a fretless and I commend you for it. I'd do it too if I had one but I'm not talking about nads- just that I'd do it to. If you jump off a bridge..........

I knew you'd like it, being Rotosound's spokesman. Once your new band hits it big, they'll be sending you boxes and boxes of them.

They look, feel and sound great! Wish you could play it too. Come down Thursday for dinner, or at least dessert.

I've heard all the negatives about putting them on, but I really don't think they'll destroy the fretboard or my nads for that matter.

They probably won't destroy your fretless board.

I need new strings for my bass. The one's I have are 40's, and I think they're Ernie Ball Slinkys...they're at the stage of "feeling like yarn". Heavier strings could sound better, but I'm not sure how accurate 45's would be on a medium scale bass. Anyone know?

Actually..I know nothing about strings. I bought some nickel rounds years ago that were a lot of fun. They just kept zingin', even after a considerable amount of time.

Nickel has a good sound to it. "Throaty" ring kind of thing. If you don't know anything about strings I guess you don't know that Fairys' make them and they wear boots- you gotta believe me !! :D

Totally off topic, but how about opening the case on a new bass where the finish is still curing. Now there is a smell to fall in love with.
