Hi everyone, I'm new in this fender forum, I just got this baby, this is one of my dream bass I picked last night, its 2000 Fender American Deluxe Precision V (ADPV) which I've been dreamed about several years

come with hardcase original, the original pickguard was white, but it looks much better with the tortoise IMO

it had Alder body with two tone sunburst, maple neck, maple fb, all comes original..

I'm curious to swap the bridge with badass V, seems cool.. or maybe add a hipshot detuner, or east u-retro, damn excited :hyper:

lets the pic do the talk

I don't like the 5-in-line head.

Fortunately Fender reworked the ADP5 in late 2001/early 2002 by changing the design to the more conventional 4+1 arrangement and adding a pair of custom Hipshot string retainers.

This model is no longer made.

Hi Spyd3r#9 & welcome to the Fender forum.. :) thats a Gorgeous 2000 ADPV I love the 3 tone sunburst body with tort pick guard & maple neck/fretboard,.. & the bridge position Humbucker ...wow!! this baby muck kick it!! I wouldn't be in a rush to swap out the bridge with a BADASS V even though I myself have a BADASS II on three of my 4 string Basses ... I've heard a few people being a little disappointed with the BADASS V used on a 5 string bass ....Marcus Miller even declined to put the BADASS V on his signature 5 string Bass & instead worked with Fender to develop something that would work better,.... the result for the most part is the bridge that's on the MM5 & the Current American Deluxe Jazz 5 (known as the 5 saddle High Mass vintage Bridge) .......... I have a 2011 American Deluxe Jazz 5 & I love the HMV bridge on this bass,...Nice Sustain & I think it would be an easy re-fit for your ADPV ...IMO .. :) & it's also Cheaper than a BADASS V ........ & with 5 strings I'm not sure why you'd need a Hipshot Extender D-Tuner ......& if you did install one I'd guess you'd have to intall it for use with the E string ....that could work as I think it wouldn't work well installed on the B string... I have a Hipshot Extender D-tuner on my Reggie Hamilton jazz Bass & to be honest I rarely even use it... or rather at the moment I'm not doing anything that would require the E to be dropped to D ..... but that being said I share in your exitement regarding your newly aquired 2000 ADPV she's a beaute.....(& ingnore certain people here who will be critical of your new bass as they're critical of every thing here)..... have fun & enjoy your Bass!!.. :D & once again I suggest the Fender 5 Saddle High Mass Vintage bridge or even the Hipshot 5 string A style Bridge ...I've heard it's also an easy re-fit for Fender Basses ...both bridge would also allow you to
have top load or string through body... :)

Welcome to the forum!! and congrats on your new bass!! By the way, I wouldn't change a thing on that bass.

Ditto I feel the way,...though a slight up Grade (if spyd3r#9 feels he really needs to change the bridge) with the Fender HMV bridge would be a nice touch.... :)

Well, in that case he can get the 2012 American Standard bridge. Strings can be installed through the body or top loaded. And it is high mass. Plus they're not expensive.

thank you for all the feedbacks and suggestions, I guess I've found the right place to ask anything about Fender :D

about the bridge, actually I just love the looks of it, looks BIG and pretty cool, but the HMV seems worth to be consider.
yes about the detuner, it also just another "nice to have" things and of course not necessary for this moment..

about the pickups, the P sounds louder the the H, is it just me or it was just the way it should be?
I really interesting about swapping the preamp with east U-retro
