At last!! I got back my old 51 P bass reissue!!! This is the last time I trade it!! I exchanged the 24 V Jazz for it. And I don't regret it, it has the warmest sound a bass could have. The only modification is a DiMarzio guitar humbucker.

Congratulations on pulling off a near impossible feat! As was said before, if only I could get the ones I miss most back! Not happening. They are probably in some investors vault.

Congrats! And what a nice bass to have come full circle! Not often you hear of stuff that cool happening. The next time you want to lose that one, let me know.....lol.

Your recovery got me thinking about basses I wish I had back, and I found myself very satisfied the way things are. I have sold some dandies over the years, and, of course, it would be nice have my first one, just for sentimental reasons - but I am bass blessed, no complaints.

Your good fortune makes me smile. Very happy for you!

I went to the shop today to put my old Fender Jazz Plus Deluxe on layaway...and it was gone! I've only seen a couple of them in town, too...the other being a Precision Plus Deluxe w/Duncan "upgrades".

There's still one 1950 P-Bass prototype out there. How can you sleep without it? LMAO!

Thanks to everyone!!! I really am lucky!! Today I replaced the potentiometers due to noise and some rust, and everything is working just perfect. :D

BD, that would be cool, wouldn't it? Even better, the proto of the Lead Bass as that one never made it to production!

That's a great story. I have a Classic '50s that I gigged with for a few years, than got a small windfall and bought an AVRI '57, which I expected to be a huge upgrade. I traded the Classic in on some other gear at the local music store...

...and couldn't stand it! I went back and got it back. I still gig with it..
