Its one of those colors you don't see much on a P-Bass. I myself have been considering building a Warmoth body to fit a Fender neck I own, and obviously the body finish would be burgundy mist.

Should Fender reintroduce the finish on P-Basses? I would love that.

Also, while I'm at it. I could use some opinions. Would a gold anodized guard work with a mist body and rosewood neck. Just an idea I had and wanted some opinions.

Took a while but found a gold anodized pickguard on a vintage Burgundy Mist. I'm not impressed.

I looked through about 300 to 400 burgundy mist instrument photos looking for anodized guard on it and found ONE. The one above. Seems white is the number one pickguard on about 80% of them. About 15% black and about 4% vintage red tortoise. White looks great to me.

I have some other colors I'd rather see such as Sea Foam Green and Mary Kay White. Burgundy Mist reminds me of Pepto-Bismol. The Burgundy Mist Metallic less so.

I think there are some instruments in the Cabronita series being made in Burgundy Mist.

And of course if you want the REAL VINTAGE Burgundy Mist:

Burgundy Mist is offered as an option for certain American Deluxe guitars.

Too bad there's no American Deluxe bass available in that finish.

I was going to suggest it might look better with a maple neck but the picture BD found changed that comment....yuck. I like the burgundy mist metallic, as on the Performer, better than the plain color, but I really like all those early pastels, Daphne Blue, Seafoam Green, bingo.

Yeah, I thought about the gold 'guard an a rosewood neck, somewhat 59ish but it just doesn't look as good as I thought. Maybe a tort guard would work.. :?

There's a '67 P bass in Burgundy Mist at one of the local shops here in Minneapolis. If I had a few extra grand layin around I'd scoop it up. It's got a mint guard and a wonderful rosewood neck. A little out of my price range though...
