I just noticed on the warranty card that my late 1969 Fender Precision Bass was tested by Robert Trujillo which is the same name as the bassist for Metallica and who played for Ozzy in the 90's. Does he have a relative by the same name that worked at Fender? I don't think it was him because he lived in Southern California and was born in 1964.

The warranty card shows that it was assembled by E. Paxton, L. Dua?te and C. Aguirre then tested by Robert Trujillo. The serial number is 279686.

Thanks in advance for any information!

I kind of doubt the guy was born yet in 1969.

He was born on October 23, 1964 according to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Trujillo

I thought that it was cool that the name was the same. Obviously he wasn't working for Fender at the age of 5. What I was wondering is if anyone knew if he had a relative by the same name that may have worked at Fender during that time period.

The name Robert Trujillo in the southwestern U.S. is about as common as Mike Smith or James Brown.

A corollary? No.

What about Moe, Larry and Curly? Many didn't know that Curly was a bass player. Go to 7:00.

I think he had an uncle who worked at Fender.

I could be wrong, but with that last name he probably was a distant relative anyway.

Rock out on that '69 Precision bass. That is a sweet axe.
