Hi guys,

I'm loving my new Fender Classic Series 50's P-Bass (Fiesta Red baby!!!)

I love the vintage vibe of this bass but can't seem to makeup my mind on the pick guard. Im tempted to swap out the gold anodized one for a red tortoiseshell pick guard.

My question is; Will any Fender P-bass pick guard fit or is there a certain shape/model no./design that I should use to fit to this specific bass?

Thank you kindly in advance for your responses :)

You go by the number of holes. That's basically all there is to it. It would be a vintage pguard copy. You may find one with the right amount of holes but it may not have the thumbrest holes or the cover holes. I hope this helps. I know someone will tell you the exact guard to get. :D

Go here. This the pickguard site for wdmusic. They have an excellent reputation. Call 'em and tell 'em what you got and what you want. Easy.

What stroker said! There are a lot of configurations, well maybe not a lot, but there are numerous types out there.

Pickguards make a huge difference in a bass.

You have to count the holes.

I tried to count the holes on one in a picture on MF, I think were were 10. That sounds odd to me.

Now that I've looked at it, I've decided I need one! Thanks a lot! It even comes with a tweed case, what a deal!

This is all I could find. Good luck in your quest.

By the way, I like new pickguards too.

That is a nice p guard . It is...how you say? Exsquisite??? I no spell so good.
But if it comes with a tweed pick guard case- I know I want one.
I used to enjoy making my own pickguards. It's really not hard to do. It just takes a bit of time and knowing how not to mess it up. And the same thing can be said for life itself. Thankyou.

You know for being from Ohio you spells really gooder than a loot of peoples. I work with a bunch of guys from Ohio so I'm an authority. It's that you spell phonetically, as if you were putting speech into words. That is one sweet bass isn't it?

As far as making pickguards, that would be sweet. The only thing I'm lacking is time.
