I'm wondering, other than the current Squire model and any USA-made reissue, has Fender made a Classic Series or 60's reissue P-Bass? I know they've had 50's one even 20 years ago (I had one) and they have 70's ones, now. It seems strange they never did a 60's version (either Mexican or Japanese.) I did a brief search online, but nothing really came up other the the Squire, right away. Then again, I might not have done it thoroughly, either or phrased it wrong. I just figured I'd throw out the question here, in case somebody actually has seen such an instrument and if there was anybody who did, it would probably be here. I know I never have.

This has been kicked around alot. No one's really sure why they don't make one other than to make the AVRI seems more appealing... I'd have a hard time saying no to a Classic Series in a classy 60's color... I'm a bit partial to rosewood.

I know, I just found it strange. They've done 50's and recently 70's, yet seemingly never a 60's in P-Bass for that mid price point. Maybe it has to do with profitability? They might not think it would sell.

Nothing at all. I'm talking about maybe a P-Bass version of this: http://www.fender.com/basses/jazz-bass/ ... -pickguard

You know a Mexican or Japanese mid price point version of that. Basically a cheaper version but not a Squier version.

I suppose you could pull a Jimi and flip it around, although that could be a pain in the arse to do so.
